At The Brazos Star, we are dedicated to offering a safe, secure, online shopping experience. We understand and respect your need for secure protection of any personally identifiable information.
Personally Identifiable Information (PII) is any information that may be used to identify an individual including a first and last name, a home or other physical address, an e-mail address, telephone number, or other contact information, whether at work or at home. The Brazos Star does not sell, trade or share any of our customers PII with any other party.
PII required by The Brazos Star's online shopping cart
If you wish to make purchases online, we require only the information needed to process ad ship your order. This includes: first and last name, address, shipping address (if different), email address (to keep you posted on the status of your order), and birthdate (to verify identity). An account is only required if you wish to make your purchase online.
The Brazos Star does not collect any credit card or checking account information over the internet. You may purchase orders via PayPal - a trusted and proven secure payment method, in which your credit, debit or checking information is kept between you and PayPal (ie. this information is not shared with us). Or you may pay for your order by mailing a check or money order to The Brazos Star.
Making purchases without creating an account
If you do not wish to create an account, you may still browse the online catalog as a guest and place your order by calling Senette at 713-301-5073. Ordering by phone will not have any impact on how long it takes to process and ship your order, and you will not need to submit any sensitive PII over the internet.
Cookies
The Brazos Star Online Shop utilizes cookies (small bits of software that are temporary in nature) for the purpose of maintaining any items you add to your shopping cart while browsing. No PII is collected or stored in this process.
Newsletters and emails
When you create an account at The Brazos Star Online Shop, you have the option to subscribe to our newsletter. By default, if you happen to overlook the option when you create your account, you will not subscribe to the newsletter. If you wish to subscribe or unsubscribe at any time, click on My Account (on the top navigation bar), and under Email Notifications click on "Subscribe or unsubscribe from newsletters". Note: We do not have a regular newsletter schedule, and it is unlikely that you will ever receive more than 4 newsletters in the course of one year.
The Brazos Star will send you an automated email when you sign up an account for your own records. You will also receive an email when you make a purchase to confirm that your order has been received (please review this email to ensure that all information is correct, and contact us immediately if anything is incorrect). The only other time we will ever contact you by email (aside from a newsletter now and then, if you choose to subscribe), is if there is a problem with your order. If you should ever receive unsolicited email from The Brazos Star, contact us immediately and we will rectify the problem.

The Brazos Star is a very small operation, run by real people who like to shop online too. We truly understand the importance of knowing that your information is protected and secure, and have taken every precaution to ensure your privacy and security when shopping with us.
